Research Experience for Undergraduates ProgramFor several years, the Physics Department has participated in the NSF-sponsored Research Experience for Undergraduates Program (REU). Fifteen to twenty undergraduates, many coming from outside UM, are hosted for a ten-week, intensive summer research experience with our faculty. This program includes a specially designed instrumentation shop class that provides training in the use of shop tools. In addition to the summer program, a significant number of faculty support individual REU students with supplemental grants. Please see Summer Undergraduate Research Program for more information. |
