"Studying the Cosmic Neutrino Spectrum Above 0.1 Eev with Tau Neutrinos" ======================================================================= The nature and origin of ultra-high energy cosmic rays (UHECR) seen on Earth are still unclear. Neutrino astronomy offers the chance to separate diffuse and local sources of UHECR as well as to put limits on possible UHECR generation mechanisms in active galactic nuclei. TAUWER, a new compact neutrino astronomy experiment, offers the highest sensitivity of any present or planned experiment in the neutrino energy range 0.1-100 EeV. The physics goals and methods of TAUWER will be described and compared to other experiments.
